English

At Greater Understanding, our English lessons are scheduled on a weekly basis, lasting a minimum of ninety minutes. Through the use of creative teaching methods, your child will begin to feel a true sense of confidence within previously unknown or misunderstood components within English.

Our individualised lesson plans will cover the wide variety of language, filmic, visual, sound and dramatic techniques, which act as the fundamental building blocks of each English course. On top of this foundation, we cover the structuring of essays, creative response composition and speech composition and assessment presentation. By consistently encouraging originality and creativity, all Greater Understanding tutors will ensure that their students have been given the best possible opportunity to achieve their academic potential.

Mathematics

At Greater Understanding, our Mathematics lessons are scheduled on a weekly basis, lasting a minimum of one hour. Through the use of creative teaching methods, your child will begin to feel a true sense of confidence within previously unknown or misunderstood Mathematic concepts.

Our individualised lesson plans will break down each topic to its fundamental components; which are then compounded upon by the vastly diverse Greater Understanding question bank. We will build up ‘question experience’ for our students, whilst explaining all of the typical examination ‘tricks’ that teachers like to use. This learning process ensures that each and every Greater Understanding student has been given the best possible opportunity to reach their academic potential.

Sciences, Humanities, Commerce and Other Electives

At Greater Understanding, we offer tuition for all electives. As secondary school is assessed as a ‘body of work’, we can make sure that your son(s) or daughter(s) are completely prepared for their final year of high school. Our lessons focus on systematically teaching syllabus content in approachable and accessible ways, along with assessment preparation and examination technique.

We also offer tuition services for niche subjects including Drama, Languages other than English (Beginners, Continuers and Extension), Music 1, Music 2, Society and Culture etc., subject to demand.
